Message: What we learned from Sunday

The 49ers are already slim with experience on the OL and they lost 2 Right Guards. We don’t know how long they will be out for but this is huge considering the lack of depth across the league at that position.

Turnovers will cost you games more often than not and this was a game of costly mistakes, a fumble at the 1 and an interception return for a TD was a 14 point swing.

Defensively, the 49ers played well enough to win. Deforest Buckner had his best game as a Niner, 2.5 sacks, something we have been waiting to see out of him. The rookie Middle LBer Fred Warner was making plays and Richard Sherman held up his own in the back end. The rest of the D needs to step up in making plays, ball recognition and situational football.

Offensively, when the ball hits your hands, need to catch it, Goal Line situations need to be converted into TD’s, not FG’s and Jimmy G needs to protect the ball better. The 3 Int’s were either poor decisions or poorly thrown balls, all correctable but also inexcusable. You take care of the football, the game is won. Hopefully Marquis Goodwin will return and Pierre Garçon will get more opportunities to make plays. I think that Alfred Morris needs to be your workload back and Breida is your changeup. Need to get stability on the OL with filling in the RG position.

Moving onto next week against the Lions at home. Perfect time to turn it around and get back on track. The lions are coming off of a home turf trouncing from the Jets. Establish the home field advantage right now.
