I thought it was unnecessary. Everyone knows Flacco isn't a running QB. He's going to slide when someone gets close. The rule has been in place for years now and there's no reason why a defender should target to hit the QB when he's running down the field. A non running QB at least. That leaves me only to believe that the hit was intentional and Alonzo was going to take his shot the first chance he got. We can only hope and pray the hit isn't going to affect Flacco in the long run now.
