In the past, you could always question his supporting cast and whether or not he was surrounded with enough talent to advance deep into the playoffs or even to the Super Bowl.

This year, with Hunt and Hill, it's hard to make excuses for him. I think that the talent was clearly there this season, one may question the gameplan and play-calling, however. 

Do you find it apparent that Alex Smith isn't the QB to get them deep into the playoffs? If so, what do you think happens to him, if the Chiefs do decide to go with Mahomes as their starter in 2018? 

Would he remain as their backup or do you think Kansas City would trade him, possibly for draft pick?

It's definitely going to be an interesting situation to watch and I believe that Denver, LA Chargers, Arizona, and a few other teams could all be "in play" for him, as trade destinations, if they do decide to deal him.
