i feel that Baker Mayfield will be playing much earlier than expected. Sitting for a year does not guarantee development. If the team is playing good with Tyrod, they ride him... if they not playing well... then then? Do you continue to sit the number 1 overall pick? If so how will that affect Mayfield... if you play him.. he has success, great!... if he doesn’t ...he is possibly motivated... or worse case... hmmmm... bust possibly? 

Competition has a better chance to produce the desired growth. If Tyrod Taylor plays lights out it can drive the others to be better. If Baker just flat out shows he is the better QB then, yes sirrrr ride him, play him... Start him. Thoughts? 

don’t feel bust with this young man... feeling he will be a football player... will figure out how to play in the system and more so in the NFL.
