I think you raise some very interesting points here and I certainly think the NFL and its Discipline Brass should have factored in Danny's pristine play history. He is certainly not a malicious player and has no history with that. The rub though is that the NFL has a Bright Lines Rule that when you lead with the crown of your head particularly with a hit above the shoulders its an automatic suspension. Because this wasn't a bang bang play and Danny could have adjusted his hitting course or strike zone I do agree with the 2 game suspension just given the potential danger or injury it could have caused. Had Adams remained in the hospital for 3 days or a week would you have said the 2 game suspension was warranted?
